BENEFITS ARE PAID TO MEMBERS UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES
Normal Retirement
on attaining the normal retirement age.
Early Retirement
on early retirement as defined by the Sponsor.
Ill-health
on retirement from the Sponsor’s service on medical grounds.
Late Retirement
On late retirement for a member who continued in employment beyond the mandatory retirement age of sixty (60) years.
“Mid-Term Access”
Upon attainment of forty-five (45) years of age and after saving for at least ten (10 years) with the Scheme. In this case, a member will be eligible for a one-off access 12% of their accrued benefits.
Transfer to another Scheme
In line with the Trust Deed and Scheme Rules, and in accordance with the Law.
Death
Where a member dies during retirement, their beneficiaries shall be paid in accordance with the Law and the Benefits Payment Policy.
Medical Treatment
For payment of medical treatment in accordance with the Law and the Benefits Payment Policy.
Emigration
On permanent emigration from Uganda
End of Project or Contract
If a Project or Contract has ended and a member has not secured another Contract or Project for at least two (2) consecutive years and is not on the main payroll.
Termination or Resignation
The Project or Contract staff is terminated or resigns and does not secure another employment for two (2) years and is not on the main payroll of the University
