MURBS is a retirement benefits scheme for staff of Makerere University. All employees of Makerere University are members of the Scheme from their date of appointment by the employer. A Member is also an employee whose benefits have been transferred to the Scheme and remain vested in the Scheme shall be deemed to be a member of MURBS.
As at 30 June 2022, MURBS had a total membership of 7,162, out of which 4069 were Deferred members.

Have you saved with MURBS for over 10 years? You have the option to assign a portion of your retirement benefits solely for securing a mortgage or housing loan with a maximum of 50% of your accrued benefits or a portion equivalent to the market value of the house, whichever is lower.
